Have an awesome idea but not sure how to get started, don’t have the time or just feeling overwhelmed by it all?

Running a business is simply trading money for a good or service. Here are some initial things you will want to decide:

(1) Are you selling something you created yourself (or will create!) or something that someone else has already created?

(2) Are you selling a digital or physical product?

After SCOURING so many ads, you know the ones that say comment “freedom” and I will give you all the things you need to know to launch an online business. I clicked on so many of these, signed up for courses and webinars, all the things friends! Turns out there are some common threads and that starting a successful online business includes these key peices:

  • Ask Chat GPT to help you come up with a “blue ocean” target market. Make sure to NICHE down to a specific group of people as much as possible - if you try to sell to everyone, you will sell to no one.

  • Set up your social media around this new niche target market. Have Chat GPT help you create an “AVATAR” that describes your ideal customer. Every time you post something, imagine you are talking directly to this person.

  • You need to grab a domain off godaddy or some other similar site where you can purchase a website domain. You are not building out a whole website, you just need that www.whateverawesomethingyouareselling.com or .ca or .net … you get it.

  • NEXT, you need a SALES FUNNEL! This simply refers to taking people through a targeted process from not knowing anything about you to purchasing your product.

    • Decide how you will advertise. If you are going with free social media content, consistency is key - at least once/a day in posts, stories and reels. You can also run paid ads, however, in order to get the optimization for your ads, I highly recommend coaching on META ADS by Ashley Brock. Thank you me later!

    • Have a CALL TO ACTION in each post and/or ad. This can be “find out more” etc and have it link to your LANDING PAGE (your domain). For this you will need to either built your own landing webpage or create an account with a Customer Relations Management tool such as Kajabi to help with all the automations. Use AUTOMATION AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!! This seems to be the selling ticket to successful online businesses!

    • On your LANDING PAGE -you will have a form that collects data - have people enter their name and email address in order to access a FREE item, called a “Lead Magnet” that people will give you their email or contact info in exchange for “sign up here to get the secret to ….(insert your cool thing here)”.

    • After they put in their email address and click submit, this should link should take them to a page with the FREE awesome thing you mentioned, PLUS your actual offer, the thing you actually want them to buy, a call you want them to make, whatever action they need to take to get what you have to offer.

    • And that, is my understanding of a Sales Funnel in a nutshell.

  • One last tip - if you have are using social media, make sure you are putting a link to your website and/or a call to action with a link in EVERY post for Search Engine Optimization of your webpage.

There are MANY people offering to tell you how to do all this on social media. However, be warned it does take significant effort and time to learn it all and be able to effectively apply it.
